01 What's involved

From plans to handover

Electrical work on a new home or renovation happens in stages, and each stage has to line up with the builder's program. Get the timing wrong and walls are sheeted before cabling is in, or painters are left waiting on fittings. We plan the electrical around your build schedule and keep the builder and homeowner across what's happening at each stage.

Before rough-in, we go through the plans with you to confirm where lights, switches, power points, data and TV points, ceiling fans and air-conditioning provisions should go. It's far easier to move a symbol on a plan than a hole in a finished wall.

Renovations add another layer. We check what the existing wiring and switchboard can handle before new circuits go in, make the work area safe before demolition starts, and let you know early if the board needs upgrading to support the new work.

02 What we handle

New homes, extensions & renovations

Whether it's a new home on a vacant block or a kitchen and bathroom renovation, the electrical scope is planned properly from the start.

01

New homes

Complete electrical installations for new houses, from underground services and rough-in through to fit-off, testing and certification.

02

Extensions

New rooms and second storeys wired in, with the existing switchboard and circuits checked to make sure they can carry the extra load.

03

Kitchens & bathrooms

Dedicated circuits for ovens and cooktops, plus lighting, exhaust fans and power points positioned around your new layout.

04

Builder projects

We work with builders to their schedule and keep communication clear, so the electrical doesn't hold up the next trade.

05

Air-con provisions

Circuits and cabling allowed for at rough-in, so air conditioning can be installed without opening walls later.

06

Data, TV & lighting

Data points, TV points and lighting positions set out at plan stage, so the finished home works the way you live in it.

03 How it works

Straightforward from start to finish

We keep the process clear and communicate at every stage, from your first enquiry through to testing and documentation.

01

Plans & quote

Send through your plans or scope. We review the electrical requirements and provide a detailed quote, arranging a site visit where one is needed.

02

Underground & rough-in

Underground services go in at the right stage, then cabling is run for lights, power, data and provisions before walls are sheeted.

03

Fit-off

Once painting is done, we install and connect light fittings, switches, power points, appliances and the switchboard.

04

Testing & certification

Every circuit is tested, and you receive the required electrical safety documentation on completion.

04 Questions

Common questions answered

When should I bring an electrician into a new build?

As early as possible — ideally while the plans are still being finalised. Early involvement means lighting, power, data and air-conditioning provisions can be planned into the design, and underground services can be scheduled at the right stage of site works. Adding things later usually costs more and can mean cutting into finished walls.

What's the difference between rough-in and fit-off?

Rough-in is the first stage, done before walls and ceilings are sheeted: cables are run and boxes positioned for every light, switch, power point and appliance. Fit-off happens after painting, when the fittings, switches and power points are installed, connected and tested.

Can you work with my builder?

Yes. We work closely with builders and homeowners on new homes, extensions and renovations, coordinating our stages with the build schedule and keeping everyone informed as the job progresses.

Will my switchboard need upgrading for a renovation?

Not always, but it's common in older homes. If the renovation adds circuits — a new kitchen, air conditioning or an extension — we check whether the existing board has the space and capacity, and whether it meets current requirements. If it needs a switchboard upgrade, we'll tell you before work starts and include it in the quote.

Do you provide certification when the work is finished?

Yes. All work is tested on completion, and we provide the required electrical safety documentation for the installation.
